Multilingual

professionalism

Hebrew vowelization is a vanishing ancient art.  Few educational institutions in Israel offer training in this field, and institutions which do offer vowelization courses do not emphasize accurate and correct performance based on thorough comprehension of the roots of the Holy Tongue used in religious texts, which require extensive knowledge of Talmudic texts.  In this area, our senior vowelization expert at Nekudah has the advantage of her vast experience and knowledge allowing her to spot the leading experts in the field and train them to produce superb work.

At times, there are several variant vowels possibilities, especially in ancient religious texts and in Aramaic writings. In the case of multi-edited texts, the manuscript undergoes substantive and linguistic editing by our senior editor to assure uniformity. She accompanies the project from beginning to end, deciding upon the best choice of wording and vowelization. If inconclusive, she consults qualified linguists or the Academy of the Hebrew Language, depending upon the writing style and vowelization of the particular text, and guides the team accordingly.
